Wise Speech

Before you speak, think -
Is it necessary?
Is it true?
Is it kind?
Will it hurt anyone?
Will it improve on the silence...

Words to live by, for sure.

I have always loved this quote but had not thought of it for some time now.

Thank you for bringing these words to us again.

Love the painting! My daughter has just finished one for me, done with colored pencils, and it is similar to this. Maybe I will have a camera soon and be able to share.

We are having a little cold snap, in the low forties, brr...:)

Blessings!

Oh how I adore the intention of this quote. Silence has so much to reveal, and each word we utter has the potential to harm or heal...waiting, choosing carefully is often the greatest gift of kindness we have to offer another human being, and ourselves as well.

Thank you for checking in on me. Each kind word you share, is indeed a comfort.

It is such a precious gift, this thing we call speech. It can also be a deadly weapon. Thank you for the wise reminder.

Important questions to ask. I often serve my loved ones best by saying nothing at all but simply listening instead.
