Enya

How do you adequately describe that special music that is so original and distinctive in sound?

Music and lyrics that are peaceful and calming and uplifting. That is how Enya's music touches this One Woman.

I have most of her CDs. Some were originally cassettes that I purchased. I have "Watermark" which was released in 1988. I remember hearing the sounds and thinking "who is this?" Later I learned that Enya is a group consisting of three people. Enya is the focal point and lead singer, lyrics are by Roma Ryan and the music is produced by Nicky Ryan.

Listen to these words from - Only Time "Who can say why your heart sighs As your love flies - only time And who can say why your heart cries When your love lies, - only time."

My latest purchase is "And Winter Comes" - my little girls when visiting say - "grandma you play that all the time."

When I was asked if I would review Enya's new release, "The Very Best Of Enya," I was elated.

One Woman was so excited to listen to many of her favorites all on one CD.

So if you care to comment - I will draw a name in a week and have a copy of this CD sent to you so you can enjoy it.

What a wonderful idea for a post. My daughter bought me an Enya CD a few years ago and I do agree that it is lovely music.

Love, love, love Enya and have been on board with the music since the beginning. Oddly enough, I heard it played in the church at my uncle's funeral and was so moved. It still touches me, and I am happy you enjoy it so much, too.

My history with ENYA also goes back to cassette tapes. It was the first music my then teenage daughter and I agreed was wonderul.
Now we are 60ish and 3-ish and still agree on her soothing soul-catching sounds.
Thank you for the chance to win he new CD.

We have several Enya CDs - hubby has been a fan longer than I! I didn't begin listening to Enya until 2001-2002. How very kind of you to share your joyous music with one of us! :)) It is wonderful to get lost in music which soothes us, isn't it?

We also love Enya here and have several cassette tapes but no CDs so you can include me as hoping to have my name drawn. Where will your review of her new recording appear? I'm consumed with curiosity to know how you came to be asked to review her new release and hope it's not too impertinent to ask.

Barbra, I have written all I am going to - about this cd.
My daughter does reviews on all types of products. Recently - how nice - washer and dryer and she received one. This is a way of advertising.
Through her sharing contacts - I was contacted to see if I would do this. Will do something occasionaly that I feel might be of interest.

Enya used to be one of my favorites in college. Not sure why I haven't listened to her in some time, but now I will have to go and get the Best of Enya.

I've always adored Enya, have all her CDs - started out like you did with a cassette of "The Celts" from a TV series and even bought the sheet music for "Orinoco Flow".
The lyrics are profound!
